Day two of racing here at the Governors Cup

17-July, 2019

Racing again did not disappoint today, with plenty of close matches and upsets.

Clare Costanzo and her team continued their winning streak of 5 matches in a row. However local team put a stop to that with a win in the last race of the first round robin.

The points are incredibly close after the first round robin, Leonard Takahashi leads with 8wins and 3 losses, and then there are four teams on 7 wins and two (including Costanzo) who are on 6 wins.

The second round robin is going to be exciting as the regatta gets to the pointy end and the final four earn their spot in the semi finals.

Who that will be, that’s the million dollar question?

Costanzo could make history and be the first ever all female team to win this event!

“We are pleased with our starts today, getting off the line even, or better in most of our races.

We need to be a bit more aggressive on the downwinds, particularly onto the favoured long gybe’, commented a spirited Costanzo
