Dicko Cup 2019 Results

The series start on Saturday, saw a 5-10 knot SE breeze, sufficient for all to get around the course, but the race record held by "If" and Martin Cross (1:20:53 from 2014) was never in danger of being broken.
After the race we had a sausage sizzle and prize giving on Hallets Beach with competitors and other members joining in the festivities.

1st - The 5th Element (Tony Dickson)
2nd - Conspiracy (Martin Cross)

The Dicko Cup has always at it's core has always been about member camaraderie and families enjoying each others company.
This was evident on Sunday when Leon Wilson held the "Rat Race" on Hallets Beach, definitely an eye opener.
If you want to know more, you'll have to join in next year.

Monday's race after the southerly change overnight looked suited to the heavier boats but the estuary was a mine field of light breezes, before finally
becoming steadier after rounding Lion Island. With the finish just off Scotland Island, it was a long upwind leg and for some their Pittwater knowledge paid handsomely.

The presentation was held shortly after the race in Halyards.

Race 2 results:
1st - Galadriel (David Williams)
2nd - Still Dangerous (Ivor Burgess)
3rd - Scoot (Scott Robinson)

Overall results for the 46th Dicko Cup:

[Once again you have to participate to learn what this awards about]

A big thank you to Leon Wilson and the cruising division for putting the Dicko Cup on their program, and helping keep this
important club tradition alive.

See you on the water,
Allen Stormon
