This regatta held down at Port Kembla, again re-enforced the strength of the Laser fleet at RPAYC. In the 4.7 fleet, our boats represented a massive 11 out of 16 entries, with Cam Whiteside and Nathan Bryant bagging 2nd and 3rd. The conditions were generally light throughout the regatta, with a Southerly hitting overnight, causing some concern for those camping out on the shoreline. Unfortunately the breeze eased by the time racing started on the Sunday, although enough remained for us all to complete the 6 posted races. In the Radials, Lauren Crossman led the way for the club in a 22 boat fleet. In the Standard fleet of 21 boats, our YD boys Will Dargaville (6th) and Harry Hall (10th) ensured the club were well represented, with the highlight being Will’s bullet in Race 4 from a very hot fleet. The NSW States is about to be contested up in Wangi and it looks like there will be another big turn out from the club.
