General Manager's Message

Dear Members

I hope that you are well and managing to enjoy the Club and get out on the water during these strange times.

Safety of our members, staff, tenants and guests remains our highest priority and while some may feel that our ‘signing in and signing out’ of the Clubhouse procedures, restriction on numbers permitted into various areas of the Club and the introduction of COVID Safe Hygiene Marshals may be extreme compared with other venues I can assure you that it is with your best interests in mind and also to meet the expectations of NSW Health.

Over the past week or so there has been encouragement from our Premier that people working in face to face positions should be wearing face masks. You will note that many of our staff, particularly our Food & Beverage staff, that have direct customer contact are now wearing masks. The wearing of masks is not yet mandatory; however, it is encouraged in situations where social distancing is difficult. We are constantly monitoring this situation and will adjust our policy on the wearing of masks as required. We would encourage that members consider their own personal safety at the Club and the wearing of face masks will be part of the new normal in the foreseeable future. The Club has ordered a small quantity of RPAYC branded face masks as staff PPE which will also be available for interested members.

Further in this newsletter are details on our Clubhouse roofing project and also the resurfacing project to our lower carpark. Both of these projects will cause disruption for the next few weeks. I apologise for any inconvenience.

Internally we also have a few projects underway at the moment with a full review of the Club’s IT systems and a full safety audit of our operations. Both of these projects are being carried out by external companies who are working with RPAYC Management.

The Club recently went through an audit process with the Marina Industry Association’s Global Gold Anchor Program. The Club was once again awarded with a 5 Gold Anchor rating. The rating remains in place for three years and this is the third time that the Club has achieved this status. Many thanks to the team involved in achieving this, particularly Kylie Brown and the Waterfront Team who drove the application and made sure that the facilities were up to the high standard required. Well done team!

Please look after yourself and those around you.

Kind regards,

Craig Evans
General Manager
