RPA Centreboard Fleet to take on Fremantle, Nationals & Youth Championships

At the end of the year, over 30 Youth Sailors from RPAYC will be making the long trek over to Fremantle to participate in a number of regattas, including the 29er, Optimist and Hobie Nationals and the Australian Youth Championships. It will be a big challenge for our sailors as the conditions are expected to be windy and bumpy. They are all used to the wind, but Pittwater doesn’t provide the bumps all that often. Many of the sailors have been training extensively and travelling to regattas wherever possible to allow them to be at their best for the big occasion.

The sailors currently signed up and raring to go are:

29er Class

  • Natasha Bryant / Annie Wilmot
  • Max Paul / Josh Bull
  • Chelsea Connor / Georgia Tuckey
  • Kurt Hansen / Jim Colley
  • Amelia Stabback / Pia Doyle

Laser 4.7 Class
Nathan Bryant
Charlie Wells
Antony Hawke

Optimist Class

  • Fletcher Walters
  • Oliver Gordon
  • Morgan Wells
  • Cameron Whiteside
  • John-Mark Paul
  • Bella Green
  • Jake Sweeney
  • James Derry
  • Luke Derry
  • Brooke Wilson
  • Alexander Bijkerk
  • Jonathan Tuite
  • Daniel Links
  • Jack Hildebrand
  • Charlie Hildebrand
  • Cooper Bellingham

Hobie 16' Class

  • Shaun Connor / Sophie Renouf

If there are any other sailors planning to head over to WA for these regattas who are not included on this list, then could they please advise the Sailing Office , Sue Walters or Steve Bryant so they can be included in all related communications. We will be organizing some regatta clothing and if you are not on our list, then you will miss out on the kit.

The Team will be shipping their boats over in containers and there are still a few spots available, so if you are still thinking of making the journey, then get in touch with us.

The Laser Nationals are on over New Year at Mandurah so why not take advantage of the container and enter.
