|
Interclub Report - Youth Development Thursday 16 June 2011
The Interclub Challenge consists of three regattas held at Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia & Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club. Each club submits two teams for each regatta. The regatta consists of six races and each team is allowed to discard their worst result. The overall winner of each regatta is determined by the tally of both teams scores.
The first regatta of the series was held at the CYCA on Sunday, the 16 of June. Our two RPAYC teams were met with quite challenging conditions, with heavy rain and a very shifty 10 to 20 knot SSE breeze blowing.

We had a look at the differences between the Force 24’s and the Elliot’s and talked though some action planning and boat set up. As soon as briefing was over we headed down to our boats, rigged, bailed and then double checked everything. Then it was time for a bit of crash course training to get up to speed sailing the Elliot’s.
