The Club’s Helming Policy as set out in our Notice of Race and General Sailing Instructions as per Handbook, as follows:
3.1 Every yacht competing in club racing events shall be helmed by a Full Member of the Club,
3.2 Except the Ladies Twilight Series, which can be helmed by an Ordinary member of the Club.
3.3 Exceptions to the above can only be made with written permission of
the Yacht Race Committee provided that the replacement helmsman is an
Ordinary member of the Club or a sailing member of a Club affiliated
with their National Authority excluding Yachting NSW Crew Club
membership.
The Yacht Race Committee will reasonably consider all requests within the boundaries of this policy .
This policy is not meant to be onerous or detract from participation
but provides a protocol to follow which is designed to protect the
value of Club membership.
