Offshore fleet start
 
The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club offers Members and Non-Members the oppportunity to compete throughout the week in a variety of races. Whether it is Inshore, Offshore, Sprints, Match Racing, Two Handed or Social fun days there is an event for you.
 
Competitors and their guests are invited to attend the post race presentations held at the conclusion of racing back at the Club House.
 
 

Club Pointscore Series

 
Spring / Summer Events
  • Spring and Summer Club Pointscore Series are held with a combination of Pittwater (inshore) and Broken Bay (offshore) races from September to December. They resume in February and finish in April.
  • Short Ocean Pointscore Series - An Offshore Series extending from Pittwater between Terrigal and Sydney Harbour.
  • One Design Pointscore Series - For Melges 24, Etchells, 11m and Sydney 38 One Design fleets.
  • Commodores Cup Series- A Twilight Non Pointscore Series held once a month in October, November, Febraury, March and April.
  • Back to Alfreds Series (B2A) - A Twilight Series for One design classes held once a month in October, November, February, March and April.

Autumn / Winter Events

  • The Saturday Winter Pointscore Series is held in June and July and is a handicap start.
  • The Early Bird Series is held from the end of July through till August and is a handicap start.
  • The Lion Island Series is held on four consecutive Saturdays in May and beginning of June.
  • The Two-Handed Series and Ladies Pointscore Series is held once a month on a Sunday between May and August.

 

Blue Water Coastal Series

The most prestigious series on the racing calendar is the Blue Water Coastal Series with the club holding a number of these coastal races each year to find the true "Blue Water "Champion.
The racing covers a wide range of conditions in a variety of courses between 18 and 226 nautical miles. They are a mixture of overnight and daytime events.
The major event is the Pittwater & Coffs Harbour Offshore Series , an event which will be coming up to it's 31st year, held during December and January each year.

 

Wednesday Series
Every Wednesday, crews compete in a Non-spinnaker race around Pittwater. Wednesday racing is made up of a number of different Series throughout the year.

Spring / Summer Events

  • The Wednesday Non-pointscore Series is held during September and October.
  • The Wednesday Spring Pointscore Series is held during November and December.
  • The Wednesday Summer Pointscore Series is held throughout February, March and April

 

Autumn / Winter Events

  • The Wednesday Non-pointscore Series is held during May.
  • The Wednesday Waterford Trophy Pointscore Series is held throughout June, July and August.
 
 
Tuesday & Thursday Twilight Series

The Club's Twilight Pointscore Series is held throughout Spring and Summer during daylight saving. This is a great social event including an evening on the water, returning at the finish of the race for dinner in Halyards with fellow crew and guests. We encourage family and friends to attend, with a live bands, Crew and Participation prizes on offer to win.

 
The Ladies Twilight Series is held on alternative Tuesday evenings. The rules of the series allow only one male per boat with that member of the crew not touching the helm throughout the race. This Series offers Spinnaker and Non-spinnaker Divisions.  
 
 

Helming Policy

YNSWSilvercardOnly members of YA / YNSW affiliated Yacht Clubs may helm a boat in an RPAYC event.

Every helmsperson shall be a member of their MYA (YA / YNSW membership).

Crewing or Needing Crew
The RPAYC Crew Register has been established to help crew find yachts to sail in the races held at the RPAYC. The register works by crew filling out the online crew register. If you are a skipper looking for crew, please log in to the Member's Only section of the website for the online form. This is only available to current members.

To enter a Series or Block enter for the Season please complete an Entry Form and submit it to the Sailing Office together with additional Race documents, including Special Regulations Certificate, One Design Certificates and Rating Certificates, if applicable.
