Division 3/4 Fleet Report

June 26 2009
Brian Gray   Fleet Captain “Lanakilla”

The Winter season has produced some cold, some wet and some cold, wet days. The Molly's Cradle Series sailed races 1 and 2 in almost identical conditions with light variable winds which took competitors around a shortened course of just 3 legs finishing with rainstorms circulating and some wind strengthening from the SE and NE.

We are reminded that Pittwater is not the best place for finding breezes when the wind is in the east and most competitors elected to sail a middle course especially to the top marks.Cantina (Crombie /Pratt) and Eureka (Rob Lang) have finished well and Hansky (Jeff Rice) stayed in the lead during the second race, which was mainly a reaching course with a little spinnaker work.

The Waterford Series sailed Wednesdays has now completed 4 races with the same weather as has been experienced on Saturdays. These WAGS (Wednesday Afternoon Gentlemen Sailors) races are always well supported and we now have 2 Couta boats racing and proving their worth especially on reaching courses.

The Edinburgh Bar has a great ambience for after race discussions and will continue to be well patronised by Members and crew.
