Saturday 22 october 2011 By Maurice Byrnes Waiting out bad weather or strong winds, or just waiting for the favourable winds to return, is a common experience when cruising Australia’s east coast. This time can be spent at anchor or preferably in a suitable marina.
So far during our time on the CC2011 we have experienced “waiting time” at Mooloolaba, Bundaberg, Roslyn Bay, Mackay and again at Bundaberg on the return trip.

Four RPAYC members amongst finalists for 2011 Australian Yachting Awards |

Yachting Australia has announced the finalists for the 2011 Australian Yachting Awards, with four RPAYC members amongst the finalists.
The 2011 Australian Yachting Awards recognises outstanding achievements in the sport of sailing between 16 August 2010 and 31 August 2011 with the winners will be named at a dinner on Friday 28 October at Sydney’s Luna Park. Yachting Australia again received a long list of worthy nominees with 65 nominations for the eight categories.

Melges Fleets East Coast Championships - Tracey Walters Friday 14 October 2011
Less than a month to go until Pittwater becomes the battle ground for exciting, competitive one design racing in the Melges 24 and Melges 32 fleets.
The second event on the 2011 -12 Melges Regatta Schedule is the East Coast Championships (5 – 6 November), hosted by the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in conjunction with Pittwater Festival of Sail.
