Commodores Cup & Back 2 Alfred’s Series starts with a bang |

An excellent day at the Alfred's last Saturday 29 October with the start of the Blue Water Series, Twilight Commodores Cup and the brand new Back to Alfred’s Twilight Series. The three events started with a bang with good participation numbers on the water and back at the club. With entertainment for both kids and adults and the bistro open after racing, the feedback has been very positive with everyone enjoying a fantastic evening and the kids bopping 'til they dropped at the kids disco.

RACING ICONS RESCUED - BRINGING AUSTRALIA HOME!
KA-5 Australia & KA-14 Steak n Kidney
My name is Benjamin Morgan and I am the President of the Australian 12m Historic Trust. A newly formed volunteer association who's charter is to acquire, restore and preserve Australia's former America's Cup 12m racing yachts. We have recently acquired the 1977 and 1980 America's Cup challenger KA-5 Australia and the 1987 America's Cup yacht KA-14 Steak n Kidney. Both yachts have just undergone a 2 month refit in preparation for their voyage from Mackay Harbour to Sydney.
This will be the last time that these two historic racing icons will travel down the eastern coast of Australia. We are planning to depart from Mackay on or around the first week of November 2011.

As the Etchells return to offshore racing for the NSW and national championships, event supporter North Sails has turned their attention to overhauling its Etchells Tuning Guide.
It is quite a few years since class members have focused on event offshore racing. With a return to this type of course area many of the competitors are looking to revive their understanding of its challenges. Along with practice races and coaching sessions planned by event hosts, Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, studying the newly updated North Sails Etchells Tuning Guide will be a valuable asset to these competitors.

Bridget Waterhouse cruising adventure - desert first |

23 year old RPAYC youth development graduate Bridget Waterhouse along with her 25 year old boyfriend Ben Bolewski who is a newcomer to sailing purchased a 43ft Bavaria in Palma Spain, two weeks ago.
