At the close of entries for the Zhik Etchells NSW State Championship, 53 crews comprising outstanding talent from Olympic, America’s Cup, world championship and Etchells class ranks will contest the event.
The eight race offshore championship is being conducted from 17th to 20th November by Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club at Pittwater.

Bandit Beats Accru by one point in the Melges 24 East Coast Championships |

After six races and two days of incredibly exciting Melges 24 racing Bandit AUS 814 claims the East Coast Championship over Accru AUS 679 by one point in the Melges 24’s.
The friendly rivalry between owners and training partners Warwick Rooklyn Bandit and Kevin Nixon Accru has a long history in 18 ft skiffs. The team aboard Bandit Dave O’Connor, Doug McGain, Jay Griffin and Julian Plante took an impressive four bullets over the series and demonstrated slick crew work and superior downwind speed.

64 boats contest the second Alfred’s Festival of Sail |

The two day Alfred’s Festival of Sail hosted by The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club held over the week-end was sailed in perfect conditions on Pittwater and offshore with 64 boats competing across various fleets and divisions on day one.
The format for the two day event, now in its second year, featured two inshore and offshore races and six one design sprint races for Sydney 38s and the Melges 24 and 32 fleets, who held their East Coast Championships to coincide with the festival.
