The sea mist, soft winds and then a late strong westerly change, all contributed to the abandonment of the final day’s racing in the Zhik Etchells NSW Championship being held off Pittwater.
As a result Mornington Fleet's Magpie team of Graeme Taylor, Steve Jarvin and Ben Morison-Jack retained their solid lead at seven points overall and are the well-deserved victors for 2011.

Zhik Etchells NSW Championship 2011 Media Release 17 November 2011
Today was registration day for the 55 boat fleet competing in the Zhik Etchells NSW Championship at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club as the Australian and international one-design sailors rolled into Pittwater.
Throughout the day the clouds hung low over Pittwater and the rain slowed the progress of boat preparations. A few teams headed out in the light breeze looking to settle their nerves and get a feel for the offshore course.
The chatter around the hardstand and while waiting to register was primarily focused on the weather forecast and weighing in under the limit.

Tuesday 15 November 2011 By Laser class The weekend of November 12 and 13 saw the NSW state laser masters championship on Jervis Bay. In glorious conditions fleets of around 50 radial rig and 50 full rigs lasers fought in tight and very competitve racing. The RPAYC was represented by Chris Dawson, Lindsay Whitton, Warwick Crossman in the Masters divison and Stuart Holdsworth in the apprentice Masters division.
