Competition Name: The Audi Bill Buckle Twilight Series Competition.

Series Participation Prizes
The terms and conditions and how it works are as follows;


  • Competition duration: The series participation prize competition will commence on 5 November 2009 (start date) and ends on 11 March 2010 (closing date). The competition is only open to RPAYC Full Members. 
  • Only Entrants will be eligible to win the competition prizes.
  • The Entrant is the person/ persons recorded on the 2009/10 Block, Series or Casual Entry Form.   It will be the Entrant will be required to be present on the Prize Giving evening on 11 March in order to claim a prize.
  • Entries will only be accepted from confirmed starters (those boats recorded as starters by the Committee vessel) in that evening’s twilight race.
  • Each week, following the weekly prize giving, the Entrant or a nominated crew representative of the entered sailing vessel can enter their specific boat once only into the draw for the major series participation prizes. The weekly entry draw into the series competition will close 15 minutes after the weekly prize giving is completed.
  • Entries for confirmed starters may be collected from sailing staff immediately following the evening’s prize giving. The entry form will be completed in full, including the date, name, member number & boat name. Entries are to be signed and deposited in the prize barrel on display in Halyards Bar.
  • Only original entry forms issued by staff following the prize giving are valid - no photocopies, scanned images, reproductions or other falsified artwork will be accepted.
  • Entries will accumulate in the prize barrel over the course of the 14 races / weeks.
  • The major prize draw will take place 30 minutes after prize giving (at the close of entries) has taken place on Thursday 11th March 2010.  Entries received after the closure time will not be eligible.
  • The barrel will be rotated at least three times so that the entries are randomly mixed. The major prizes will be drawn by one of the sponsor’s representative who shall not be an RPAYC member.
  • Entrants must be present at the end of series Prize Giving on the 11th March 2010 to claim the prize. In the event of a winner not being present, a redraw will take place after one minute has elapsed until such a time a winner of each major prize is found. For the purpose of establishing the winner, the winner’s name shall be the entrant recorded on the winning yachts Block, Series or Casual entry form.
  • The order of the major prize draw will be in the order of 1st prize, 2nd prize followed by 3rd prize.
  • Each Entrant is only eligible to win one major prize.
  • The judge’s decision is final. The judge being the Commodore. No further correspondence will be entered into.
  • The prizes will not be redeemable for cash from the RPAYC or the prize provider.
  • Winners will be published on the club website at www.rpayc.com.au and also in the April edition of the club’s newsletter, Alfred’s News and placed on the official notice board within the RPAYC clubhouse.
  • Eligibility – the following persons/vessels are ineligible to enter and win:

    • The Commodore, Vice Commodore, Directors, employees and their immediate families and non-members of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club.
    • Club owned vessels (namely Force 24s).
    • The major prize, being the Audi A3, is unable to be won two years in a row by the same Entrant.
    • Entrants who knowingly attempt to contravene the terms and conditions governing participation in the lottery.
    • Members who are non financial at the time of prize giving. i.e where there account trades over 30 days. It is the responsibility of the Entrant to establish if their account is trading within terms.
    • The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any winner in the event of discovery of contravention of these rules before or after prizes are awarded. In such circumstances it may require the return of the prize to the Promoter to be dealt with as an unclaimed prize.

These terms and conditions will be available via the club website at www.rpayc.com.au and on official noticeboards within the clubhouse.

2nd prize – 5 night holiday for two people on Hamilton Island staying in the Reef View Hotel
Includes a dinner for two to the value of $100 plus one bottle of Robert Oatley wine at the Hamilton Island Uacht Club and includes 5 breakfasts at Hamilton Island.
No spending money included, Free use of non - motorised water sports, tennis and use of the gym.
Does not include airfares
Accommodation not to be taken during Hamilton Island Race Week
The recommended retail price of this prize is $3,000

3rd prize – A $2000 voucher to spend at Leading Edge stores
To spend on TVs, computer, electronics, jewellery or golf equipment
