RPAYC Crew Register
The RPAYC Crew Register has been established to help yacht owners find
crew and crew find yachts to sail in races or cruise events held at the RPAYC. The
register works by yacht owners or crew filling out the appropriate form
and lodging it with the Yachting Office. The forms are then kept for a
reasonable period and are available for copy and distribution to any
person who makes a genuine enquiry.
The details included on the forms are for distribution and should
include any relevant information on your yacht, crewing experience or
types of sailing you are interested in entering. An important point of
the crew register is that it is an honour system and any information
that is given should be real experience or realistic times and days
that you are available to sail. i.e. There is no benefit for anyone if
you nominate that you are interested in Wednesday racing if you cannot
make the time to currently participate.
The RPAYC has a broad base of sailing events that involve all aspects
and disciplines of yacht racing. A program has been drafted which
includes as many of the clubs sailing events as possible. Not all
events are noted on this program as the finalisation of dates etc are
not available for publication at the time of printing. This is a good
reason to read the notice board and familiarise yourself with the news
that is available from the Yachting Office.
In addition to the Crew Register is a Casual Crew Register that is kept
at reception. This list is available for crew who are
Members or Non-Members and is only available for crew who are ready to
sail on the day if a position can be found. Placement on this register
is only available for crews that are in the clubhouse. It is advisable
to check with the Yachting Office prior to the race day to confirm
starting times and the best time to arrive before the race or cruising event. The Casual
Crew Register is an ideal starting point for people interested in
sailing but are not sure where they fit into the current activities at
RPAYC.
