The Coral Coast 2011 Program has 'Alfreds' members heading north towards isolated anchorages on tropical islands with white sands and crystal clear waters, where a long sleep-in, midday snorkel, an afternoon walk or whatever else you choose to do, will make up the program of the day.
From May 2011 we are planning a succession of rendezvous locations along the NSW coast and on into Queensland waters and the Coral Coast. Each leg is being carefully planned so that participants can achieve the next rendezvous sailing in daylight hours.
The sailing passages will be sailed independently and not as part of a formal cruise-in-company. Participants can choose to join with others as cruise leg partners, or sail solo if they wish.
Members may participate in the entire schedule or to join in at as many of the rendezvous locations as they wish.
The cruise schedule is planned in such a way that members can break the journey into legs to suit themselves and then meet up with others at any rendezvous that may suit their planned legs.
There are three distinct phases of Coral Coast 2011, "Plan", "Prepare" & "Participate"
The "Plan" phase is complete and a program of places to rendezvous is ready. These web pages have been developed to keep all members up to date with information on rendezvous locations, places of interest, cruise legs, available training, discussion groups, and seminars. We are also providing a tracking tool so that you, and your friends and relatives, can follow the location of each and every participating boat once underway.
The "Prepare" phase is also now completed. Many potential participants registered their interest and indicated their individual interests. In consultation with the RPAYC training committee a comprehensive series of talks, lectures, seminars and discussions was scheduled to cover the needs of interested members. You did NOT need to be sailing north in 2011 to be interested in this preparation program. See the seminars on the Seminars webpage.
The "Participate" phase started from May 2011 as fleet members headed out past Barrenjoey and turned north.

The Coral Coast 2011 Working Group is chaired by Rob Starkey with members Maurice & Val Brynes, Donna Rohrs, Tony Nossiter, Warwick Lukins, Ross Scoble, Janet Dell and Eoin & Ann Asker.
It's time to enjoy that cruise of a lifetime!
