Membership at the RPAYC is open and the categories we can offer are:

• Full Ordinary - for all boat owners

• General - for non boat owners

• General Intermediate (for ages 23 -29) - for boat and non boat owners

• Absentee - when residing more that 150 kilometres from the club and intends to visit less than 6 times per year

You will be required to complete and return a nomination form, available from the office or download from the website.

The election of New Members takes place at the Membership Committee meeting held on a Saturday morning at the beginning of each month.

Applications require a Proposer and Seconder, who must be Members of the Club and have known the nominee for a period of 12 months or more. The Proposer or Seconder is required to accompany the nominee when they meet with Membership Committee members for an interview. This interview is arranged for a mutually convenient time in the weeks prior to the Membership Committee meeting. The Proposer and Seconder must prepared to see the application through to finalisation.

The application is then considered by the Membership Committee monthly and if accepted,  your name goes on the Membership Board for a minimum of 14 days, a requirement of our Constitution. At the end of 14 days your application will go to the Election Committee for approval.

Once your nomination has been accepted , you will be invited to attend a New Members'  Welcome evening with your Proposer or Seconder. These are held every four months and include a presentation by the Membership Committee of the Club's facilities and services. Following the presentation an informal cocktail party is held in the Club's pleasant surroundings, where  you can meet key members in your primary area of interest and other new members.

Full Members are entitled to hold an account with the Club and have full voting rights. The premises have security parking for members only.

The Club offers a wide range of activities for members – both on-water and off-water.  And there are many wonderful members to meet, and to develop friendships with.

Quite naturally it can sometimes take a little while to meet other members with similar interests, develop friendships, engage in Club activities, and to feel at-home at the Club.

The Club offers a mentor program where, if you choose, you can be connected to a friendly, experienced member who will be more than happy to show you around and make any necessary introductions to other members and interest groups to help you feel at home at the Club. If you would like some help in further settling into the Club, please don’t hesitate to ask us to arrange for one of our Club Mentors to assist you.
